MMB is part of the worldwide network of the Goethe Institute Munich and promotes German language and culture abroad. The library provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about Germany.
Responsibilities: The reference librarian will play a key role in restructuring library and information services; will develop and maintain online information resources; update Library WebPages; market library resources and services; prepare Library-Service newsletter and other promotional material; maintain address databases.
Requirements: Excellent knowledge of German language and culture; relevant experience in information management; ability to conduct independent research; thorough knowledge of computer applications; excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, ability to compose texts for publication, MLIS degree or equivalent is an added advantage, ability to work effectively as part of a team, strong commitment to public service.
